This page is not in any of the website’s menus, but can be accessed by a link—or to hide it more, it can be password protected. We could also have one training page for volunteers and one for staff (with details we don’t want to be viewed by others.)

If you have a vocal read that is too quiet for broadcast, and can't re-record, here's how to help it out in Adobe Audition. Always work on full-res .wav or .aiff files instead of lower-res MP3 if you can. (This one is using an MP3.)

Here’s a quick first-try test video about proper metadata settings for WQRT.

Notes to self for creating training videos:

Command-shift-5 to capture video. Set it to full-screen, show mouse clicks. Use headphones with built-in mic. Note: YOU WON’T BE ABLE TO HEAR THE SCREEN’S AUDIO, except whatever your headphone mic picks up from your computer’s speaker, and your voice will sound like a phone call. Keep them short—it’s about 100MB per minute.

When you hit the stop button at the very top of the computer, it saves as .mov on desktop. Need to upload to Big Car’s Vimeo page and set to “hide from vimeo” and to embed only on this page (https://holly-sommers-em5t.squarespace.com). Then copy the video’s URL and click “Video” button in Squarespace, paste in there. If you can save it as an mp4 (H.264) vs. mov, that will make a smaller file size.
