Noise-a-Thon 2019 24-hour Fundraiser for WQRT

Thank you to all of the incredible performers who donated their time and talents to our fundraising event this year. Please visit our social media pages to see and hear some highlights from #noiseathon: WQRT Instagram, WQRT Facebook, Listen Hear Instagram

We appreciate every volunteer who helped set up, run sound, spread the word, cheer us on, and keep the whole event super fun and easy for everyone to enjoy. Huge thanks to our sustenance sponsors for King Dough Pizza, Sun King Brewery, Tinker Coffee Co., and General American Donut Co., and to Big Car Collaborative for providing this space and radio station for such a great opportunity.

And of course, thank you to every generous supporter who texted a donation, dunked a buck in the donate hole, bought a beer, or volunteered to be part of things at WQRT after seeing what we’re up to. High-fives to all of you!

The text-to-donate portal is always on, if you’d like to help now:

WHAAAAT?: 24 outstanding experimental sound artists in 24 hours! It’s a live performance that never stops, with simultaneous broadcast #ontheactualair in Indianapolis at 99.1FM and streaming from wqrt.org

WHEN: Unrelenting music from 6pm Wednesday April 17 overnight until 6pm Thursday April 18

WHERE: Come hang with the bands at Listen Hear sound art gallery (home of WQRT): 2620 Shelby Street, Indianapolis, IN 46203. It’s all ages and free, drop in any time. Donate what you can to keep community radio alive.

WHY: Our non-commercial community radio station only exists through the energy, imagination, and hard work of volunteers. How many stations do you know who could/would play 24 straight hours of experimental electronic music? We have open minds and love to try new things. The rest needs…money. WQRT has big plans to create more opportunities for everyone this year, but we can’t do it without direct support of individual donors and underwriters. Enjoy something you don’t see or hear every day and show some love for this creative outlet for local talent.

HOW TO SUPPORT:

• Check out the show in person, on the air, or online to see what we’re about. Meet new people, find new artists, ask questions, leave a few bucks, and put 99.1 on your radio preset.

• Text to donate from your phone (accepts instant Apple Pay, Google Pay, credit cards) in any amount. Or click the link, which works on your computer, too:

• Contact us to become a monthly underwriter. Show people that your business/organization believes in sharing and expressing all kinds of ideas through music, art, and culture on the open airwaves for everyone. Tax-deductible high fives.

Tell your friends.
